Always board last!

Long haul flights with children can be… let’s face it, painful!

But we’ve managed to discover a few handy tips that will hopefully help you too!

AISLE SEATS:

Try to secure aisle seats early so you don’t have to disrupt other passengers for the several toilet visits that will ensue!

BOARD LAST:

Ignore the early priority boarding announcements and get on the plane as late as possible! There is absolutely no point in trying to keep your kids seated and entertained any longer than you have to.

SEPARATE:

If possible, sit between your little ones to avoid them arguing over everything including who gets the armrest!

CREATURE COMFORTS:

Pack their favourite sleep toys/blankets for familiarity and security.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES:

We always keep these out of sight for a few weeks before travel to ensure the kids are itching to use them once on the plane. Make sure they’re fully charged!

TREAT BAGS:

A separate snack bag for each child avoids and hunger tantrums (but avoid anything overly sugary or containing food coloring!).

NEW TOYS:

For super long haul flights a new puzzle/Lego set/sticker book always goes down a treat and fills at least a couple of hours!

FEEDING DURING LANDING:

Always a good idea for take off and landing to avoid ear aches but especially BEFORE you land in case the customs/baggage/quarantine wait times are lengthy.

MEDICINE:

Always, always, always pack some pain relief in case of earaches, tummy aches, headaches – and some for the kids too!

What are you’re best tips to entertain your little people on planes?

We would love to hear from you!

Safe travels!
