FEATURED DESTINATION
CANGUU, BALI, INDONESIA

“Canguu is perfect for our family as the villa sizes can accommodate our big family of six!”

Why we love Canguu

Big families especially with lots of little ones require a super family friendly destination and nothing quite beats Canguu, Bali!  It’s close to the Canguu Club, local food markets, beach clubs, cafes and the beach.  The climate, the people and the islands have so much to offer a family of any age and size.

Where we stay

We highly recommend Villa Berwara Beach from Bali Luxury Villas.   Last November our family stayed at Villa Berwara and we are re-booking for this year.  Located in a gated villa community, Villa Berwara offers everything a family could need.

The Villa Berawa Beach staff are amazing, we could not rave about these guys more! The villa itself is so safe and has excellent amenities; the beds are incredible and each bedroom has its own ensuite. There is a second lounge room for the children and a huge oversized pool!  The kitchen is great and breakfast is made for us every morning.

Hello heaven!

Last year we hired a chef from www.balikrisnaservice.com.   It was the greatest thing we’ve ever done!  At the time Florence was only four months old and I was still breastfeeding, plus we had three other little mouths that were constantly hungry.  Our chef would arrive each day at 3pm and create the greatest fruit salad you have ever seen plus smoothies for all of us, then start prepping dinner with food from the local markets she had sourced that day.  She would cook a child-friendly meal which the children devoured.

“While we bathed our kids and put them to bed our chef would then cook a delicious Indonesian meal for Nathan and I set upbeautifully by the pool.  She even waited around and did the dishes for us!Pure bliss.”

At the end of the night the following day’s meal would be organised and the food was always wonderful and fresh.  She was professionally trained so no-one was unwell.  There is nothing worse than a sick two year old! This gave everyone a much needed break.

Our favourite activities

  • Day trips to Lembongan Island.
  • Milk & Madu for a coffee and museli (on the days we felt like heading out for breakfast).
  • Lazy days at the Canguu Club Water Park (unlike Waterbomb park, Canguu Club is cleaner, not so crowded and feels safer).

“Breastfeeding mamas will love the oversized umbrellas, the constant service  (iced cold latte please!) and the ease of getting around the water park.”

Kristine’s tips!

  • Pool fence hire is a must!  Visit Baby Service Bali
  • Our favourite places to eat: Milk & Madu, Monsieur Spoon and La Laguna (be sure to go to La Laguna at sunset).
  • When we travel we always pack and emergency kids pack, don’t leave home with out one! Make sure you include: Hydralyte sachets and icy pole molds, Baby and Kids Nurofen/Panadol, Tropical Insect repellant, Savlon for insect bites, Sudocream, Sunscreen, Bandaids and the iPAD loaded with movies!
