By far, my favourite place to holiday with the kids in tow is Byron Bay because it’s full of charm and character. It’s got the perfect dose of relaxation for Marcus and I and there are stacks of things for the kids to do so they’re never bored. The fact that we can escape the city grind and be in the sunshine after a one-hour flight is a bonus.

Oh my gosh, there are soooo many things to do!!
We absolutely love Macadamia Castle and Annabelle makes us go every time we’re in Byron. It’s practically a mini zoo and for our city kids, they love nothing more than feeding and playing with the goats, sheep, koalas and snakes (I stay away at that point!). There’s mini golf to play, trains to ride and a great café for lunch as well.

SALLY’S GO-TO ACCOMODATION
We always stay at Beach Suites when we visit Byron because it’s in the best location, right across the road from the beach and near all the yummiest cafes and restaurants. The rooms are huge so for a family of four, we can all fit comfortably without tripping over Barbies, Lego, prams and each other. The staff are just gorgeous as well; they really go above and beyond for everything!

SALLY’S FOODIE FAVOURITE!
You must try Safya (corner of Fletcher Street and Bay Lane) for their amazing Middle Eastern breakfasts. Holy moly, I think it was the best brunch of my life, which is a statement I don’t make lightly because I’ve had my fair share of brunches. You must get the Cairo Eggs and trust me; it’ll be the best breakfast of your life!
