Our favourite recent family holiday was to Hanoi in Vietnam. It is a really bustling city with amazing history that’s accessible for the whole clan.
We loved the chaos of the Hanoi Old Quarter and the wonderful street food. The water puppets are unmissable!

There are so many great priced hotels for families and the Hanoi Marvellous Hotel & Spa in the Old Quarter lived up to its name. They offer adjoining rooms and the service is astoundingly good.

Make sure you visit Hanoi on a weekend. The roads around the main lake are closed to traffic and you can walk around with the locals who enjoy family visits of their own.
