SIGOURNEY CANTELO

FOUNDER & EDITOR OF BEAUTICATE.
FEATURED DESTINATION
IBIZA, SPAIN
I know, I know! It’s probably the last place you would think of when you’re toting a troupe, but we were visiting a friend there last year and it proved to be great for kids. I wrote all about it on Beauticate here, but in short, there are some seriously beautiful spots, it’s more chilled out than you think and a lot of the beach restaurants have kids clubs. Seriously – how civilised.
Sigourney’s family-friendly must-dos
- Dinner in Dalt Vila (in the old town) is lovely and each evening the square is filled with kids playing. I love that language is no barrier– they communicate in the global language of kid.
- Watch the sunset from Sunset Ashram restaurant – it’s magical. And the beach fills with families and tots toddling in the shallows.
- Hire a day bed at Beachhouse – and check the littles into the kids club. They make necklaces and do face painting.
- Take a boat to Formantera – or stay the night there. It’s insanely beautiful.
-
Have lunch at Karen Martini’s restaurant Cala Bonita – YUM. And a nice private beach where the kids can play.
Before you pack!
Visit Kids in Ibiza – they have amazing services and hire options for kids.
Invest in rest
Go to Atzaro to laze by the pool and visit the day spa (enlist the hubby to mind the kids or get a babysitter and go together – this is your time!!)
