FEATURED DESTINATION
NOOSA, QUEENSLAND

Both my partner Pete and I have been going to Noosa in Queensland our whole lives, coincidentally with our own families. So it brings us such joy knowing it’s been such a special spot for both of us growing up that we can now share it together with our two-year old Milla and our families!

We are headed to Noosa again this year, with 6 of Milla’s cousins who are aged between 1 to 8 and we were there for the previous Christmas. It’s a very sentimental place and super kid friendly, yet somehow still oozes sophistication for the adults. Various activities for the kids, with the beach walking distance from the main street – Hasting street, there are incredible restaurants, ice-cream, plus it’s loads of fun and super safe!

STEPHANIE’S GO-TO ACCOMMODATION

Sea Haven Resort on Hastings Street without a doubt is (and will forever be) my number one when in Noosa. It’s where my parents took us year after year, for the majority of my life and it will always be my special place. The apartments are so lovely and have the best of both worlds where you have service and a reception desk etc, but with space and freedom – you can’t beat being right on the beach!

The apartments also allow a fun and personal environment for other friends and family to be right around you. There is a lot of grass across the hotel, grills/BBQs are in the apartments, so often it’s about cooking at home, whilst allowing the kids to run around but right in front of you!  It has three different pools, perfect for all ages and for the kids to pick and choose, table tennis, a gym and conveniently next to all the best shops and cafe’s in Noosa!

The Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort (formerly The Sheraton Hotel) is also across the road and is obviously a great spot if you prefer the hotel life!

STEPHANIE’S NOOSA MUST-DOS

The walks and trails in Noosa’s National Park are great and are located at the same end as the Sea Haven Resort. There is beautiful horse riding at Equathon at Noosa North Shore which I’ll be sure to do this time and of course nothing beats being at the beach for all of us!

Sea Haven Resort is literally on the beach front – so you can smell the ocean from your balcony or patio! The back of the apartments are facing the water and the front of the hotel/apartments is in the heart of Noosa, next to everything you could possibly need; restaurants, shops and cafe’s.

You can’t go wrong with a walk along Hastings street. Aromas Noosa is always a must for coffee and people watching! A lovely long time tradition of ours post dinner is to have an ice cream at Massimo’s Gelateria – it’s beyond! You will put dairy back in your diet for this one, its that good!

And an old staple of mine was Betty’s Burgers. It used be a little hut off the beach – the wait was long but well worth it. Although I’m a ‘Veggie’ and stick to the ‘Shroom Burger’, if you’re a meat lover then you’ll be a happy camper. (My man can back that up!).

STEPHANIE’S
TOP TWO
BABY TRAVEL TIPS!

1. Back it up!

I’ve travelled with Milla alone from LA to Melbourne to Noosa a few times and I highly recommend having a back pack for anything you need for your hand luggage. e.g. toys, milk, nappies, personal things etc. having your hands free is number one for me when traveling with my babe and having the weight evenly across my back helps carrying our stuff and her if that’s what it comes to.

2. Toy with it!

New toys is a good one, as it brings excitement to the plane ride. Toys she’s never played with before or new colouring books brings an element of surprise and for me encouraged her to play longer. And the trip was so enjoyable having her family around her! We live in Los Angeles so it’s always so special to be on holiday back home in Australia with the cousins and our families!
