NO ONE PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER! (OR THE SUN SHELTER)
Ahhh, those beach days with little babies. You know the ones. When it’s hot and sunny… but instead of cooling off in the water you end up spending all day long in the sun-shelter. Watching everyone enjoying themselves while you and bub do the occasional quick toe-dip then it’s back to the tent!
So, why do we spend all our time in the sun-shelter with new babies instead of in the water? A hundred reasons, but mainly:
- The water is too cold,
- Bub gets scared,
- You feel anxious because bub gets incredibly slippery when wet,
- You have other older children to look after at the same time,

Why hasn’t somebody thought of this before? Such a simple, but super effective solution for new parents at the beach, the pool, under the sprinkler or for any water adventure.
The genius behind this invention is Victoria Boag, a Melbourne mum whose husband originally came up with the concept.
“My husband wasn’t confident holding our first-born as she was so slippery when wet! There were mesh wraps available but they weren’t very manly and you had to wrap and tie them in a certain way.” Victoria explains.
“Our baby carrier was designed with mums and dads in mind, which is why it has a sporty look and of course, the easy to use click buckles that my husband requested. We love that it is colourful and evokes a sense of fun, whilst also being a product for safety. Our aim was to make water fun easier for families of little ones.” says Victoria.
With an incredible three years in development, Frog Orange Australia have spared no expense when it comes to safety! Some of the all important features include:
POSITION PERFECT
The carrying position maintains that all-important “M” position of baby’s legs recommended by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. This is where your baby’s bottom is positioned central in the carrier, is lower than their knees and their hips are spread open.
CORRECT WEIGHT
The carriers have been tested to carry a maximum weight of 9kgs however as the neoprene fabric is buoyant, you can also carry heavier babies up to 11kg.
EASY AS PIE
They are super safe, easy to put on and the shoulder straps will not slip! So you can enjoy splashing and wading in the water with your little one in complete comfort and safety.
